Job Description
Job Description
This role supports a custom rubber compounding and mixing facility that has been delivering high-quality rubber compounds for over half a century. You will work in a hands-on, physically active production environment, starting with palletizing rubber products and progressively cross-training in multiple areas of the manufacturing process. This position is ideal for someone with a strong attendance record, a go‑getter mentality, and a willingness to work in a dirty manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities
- Palletize manufactured rubber by taking long strips from the production line and neatly weaving them onto pallets for shipment.
- Arrange rubber strips by weaving them back and forth and cross-weaving multiple layers to create organized, stable pallets of rubber.
- Start in a lacing-type role and demonstrate consistent performance, accuracy, and efficiency in palletizing tasks.
- Train across multiple production areas after successfully performing initial duties.
- Support batching operations by pulling ingredients and compounds according to work orders and accurately weighing them to create rubber mixes.
- Assist the mixer by preparing materials, feeding ingredients, and supporting the mixing process as directed.
- Unload the mixer and handle rubber as it is processed, including cutting or preparing rubber to be formed into specified strips.
- Perform general production and general labor tasks as needed to support daily manufacturing operations.
- Operate or assist with machine operation under guidance, following safety and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with team members across different stations to complete daily production goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within the constraints of a dirty manufacturing environment.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures related to working around rubber compounds, dust, and production equipment.
- Previous production experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Demonstrated track record of strong attendance and reliability, verifiable through references.
- Willingness to work in a very dirty manufacturing environment with exposure to rubber dust.
- Go‑getter mentality with a proactive, hands-on approach to work.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfort working around machinery and following production instructions and work orders.
- Attention to detail when palletizing and batching to ensure accuracy and product quality.
- Ability to work both independently at a station and collaboratively as part of a production team.
- Forklift operation experience, especially with sit-down propane forklifts, is a plus.
- Willingness to train and potentially operate a forklift after being hired on a direct basis.
- Experience with general labor, general production, or machine operation is beneficial.
- Comfort working in a multi-building facility and rotating between different production areas as needed.
- Strong work ethic and readiness to learn new tasks and cross-train in multiple roles.
You will join a long-established manufacturing operation with a reputation for quality and consistency, offering a stable, long-term opportunity. As you prove your capabilities, you will gain cross-training in multiple areas, expanding your skills and career potential. When you transition to direct employment, you will have access to a strong benefits package, reflecting a commitment to rewarding dedication and hard work. The culture emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and continuous learning in a hands-on environment.
Work Environment
The work takes place in a very dirty manufacturing facility due to the nature of rubber production. You will be exposed to rubber dust throughout the day, and it is expected that dust will accumulate on clothing and personal protective equipment by the end of each shift. The facility consists of three buildings, and you will typically work individually at your assigned station while contributing as part of a broader team to achieve daily production goals. The environment is industrial and physically demanding, with regular interaction with production lines, batching equipment, mixers, and other machinery. Appropriate work attire should be durable and suitable for a dusty, dirty setting, and you will follow all safety and protective equipment requirements.
