Job Description

Join our innovative team as a Metal Fabricator, where you will play a crucial role in the metal fabrication and framing of our final assembly units. This position requires the use of various metal fabrication tools to create unique and custom builds without specific blueprints. Your expertise will be essential in determining what needs to be completed, cutting and welding metal, and assembling frames.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the metal fabrication and framing of final assembly units.
• Utilize different metal fabrication tools such as hacksaws, circular saws, chop saws, drill presses, manual machines, and various grinding tools.
• Cut, weld, and shape mild steel using MIG welding techniques.
• Work with untoleranced drawings and provide feedback to engineers in this R&D building role.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and team leaders to solve fabrication challenges.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in MIG welding and working with mild steel.
• Comfort with following untoleranced drawings and providing feedback.
• Experience with tight tolerances in custom metal fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in manual machining is a nice-to-have.
• Skills in carpentry, grinding, welding, and understanding blueprints and tolerances.
• Preferred depot level maintenance experience in aviation

Work Environment

The work environment includes a morning shift starting between 6am and 8am. You will be required to wear PPE while working on site, which may occasionally include over-the-head respirators. This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
