The Inventory Specialist accurately counts, verifies, and records parts in a warehouse environment while ensuring all items align with system records. This role focuses on completing detailed inventory audits, maintaining data integrity within SAP and related systems, and resolving discrepancies through careful investigation and problem solving.
Responsibilities
- Count and verify parts stored on warehouse shelves with a high degree of accuracy.
- Work collaboratively with two union team members to complete comprehensive inventory audits.
- Review and manage a large volume of parts, including more than 38,000 individual items.
- Match physical parts to their corresponding codes in SAP and confirm data consistency.
- Complete inventory sheets thoroughly and enter all relevant information into SAP and other ERP tools.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies when part codes or counts do not match system records.
- Use original purchase orders and related documentation to trace and correct inventory issues.
- Perform regular cycle counts to maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
- Apply strong attention to detail when counting different types of products and recording data.
- Communicate inventory issues, miscounts, and resolutions clearly to team members and supervisors.
- Use Microsoft Excel and Outlook to track, update, and share inventory information.
- Demonstrated experience in inventory control and inventory management.
- Hands-on experience performing inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems for inventory tracking and data entry (SAP experience highly preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when counting and recording inventory.
- Effective problem-solving and investigative skills to address miscounts, recounts, and missing codes.
- Ability to read and interpret purchase orders and related documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel for data tracking and Outlook for communication.
- Capability to work effectively in a warehouse environment and collaborate with team members.
- Previous experience working with large inventories involving tens of thousands of parts.
- Experience collaborating with unionized team members in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Comfort working with different product types and understanding how they are organized and coded.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to document findings and share updates with the team.
This role is based in a warehouse setting where the Inventory Specialist works primarily on-site among shelves of parts and materials. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, typically from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The work involves moving through storage areas, handling various types of products, and using computers and SAP or ERP systems to enter and verify data. The environment is collaborative, with regular interaction with union team members and other warehouse staff, and requires consistent attention to detail and adherence to established inventory procedures.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
