ROLE OVERVIEW: 
Works with the surgical team to perform scrubbing duties and assist the registered nurse in circulating 
duties and other related procedures. Accountable for quality and reliability of patient care consistent 
with established nursing practice and assigned tasks and hospital policy and procedure. Works under 
supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, receives direction from physicians and professional nurses. 
PREREQUISITE EXPERIENCE: 
• High School Graduate 
• Completion of Surgical Technologist course and appropriate certification 
• Knowledge of technical requirements for most surgical procedures gained from a minimum of 
two years operating room experience 
• CPR certification or ability to obtain
