JobSummary

The ConcreteFinishersupportsallphasesofconcreteplacement,finishing, andcuringforsidewalks,curbs,gutters,slabs, ADAramps, andothercivilwork.ThisroleworksunderthedirectionoftheForeman/Superintendentandperformshandsonfieldworkin afastpacedconstructionenvironment.

Duties&Responsibilities

• Place, spread,level, andfinishconcreteusinghandandpowertools.

• Performbroom,rake,groove,edging, andsmoothfinishes.

• Assistwithscreedingand use acomealongtomoveanddistributeconcrete.

• Set andcheckforms, grades, andelevations;removeformsafterplacement.

• Applycuringcompounds,performsawcuttingandjointing, andcorrectsurfaceimperfections.

• Operateandmaintainfinishingtoolsandsmallequipment,includingskidsteerorminiexcavator(asneeded).

• Coordinatewithconcretetruckdriversduringpours.

• Performgeneral labortasksandmaintainclean,safeworkareas.

• Followallsafetyrequirements, PPE use, andparticipateindailyJHAs.
  

Qualifications

• Strongknowledgeofconcretefinishingtechniques,curing,additives, andweatherimpacts.

• FamiliaritywithADAslopesandtolerances.

• Abilitytoreadbasicconstructiondrawings(preferred).

• ACIorCORTcertificationspreferred(orwillingnesstoobtain).

• Reliabletransportationandabilitytoworkovertime/weekendsasneeded.

PhysicalDemands

• Abilitytoliftupto50lbsandperformphysicallydemandingoutdoorwork.

• Mustpassarespiratorfittest.

• Must beabletowearasilicaratedrespirator/maskwhenrequired.

• Abilitytoworkinvariedweatherand activeconstructionenvironments.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee

• Regularly worksin outside weather conditions.

• Frequently works near moving mechanical parts; is exposed to vibration, wet or humid conditions, heat, and other forms of inclement weather; and is exposed to loud noise.

• Occasionally works in high, precarious places or in excavations, and is exposed to fumes or particulates, chemicals, or electricity.
