Job Description

This position plays an integral role in supporting our manufacturing team. You are responsible for identifying new methods, resolving problems, achieving cost savings, and working with internal teams to ensure production runs smoothly and safely. Responsibilities:
Act as the point of contact to resolve problems related to tooling impacting the manufacturing
Work with resources to resolve tooling issues related to safety, quality, throughput, or costs
Generate and implement ideas to reduce tool costs and overall manufacturing costs
Work with internal teams to ensure tooling issues don’t interrupt production
Manage weekly tooling spend against a variable piece cost budget
Perform and document tool trials using GMPT tool test forms and PPCR
Revise and update tool drawings and documentation as required
Develop new systems to recondition and reuse tooling when economically feasible
Attend operations and team problem-solving meetings
Support manufacturing addressing tooling issues contributing to high manufacturing costs, scrap rates, and low production
Assist cross-functional teams in achieving overall plant metrics
Recommend optimized machining processes and cutting parameters
Introduce new technology and improved tooling designs
Develop and provide year over year Cost per Piece reduction plans
Work with the preset team to implement proper tool setup techniques
Maintain PFEP and utilize PFEP & Top Spend Data to initiate savings projects
Follow the ACD process.
Adhere to customer safety requirements and customer tool test procedures
Complete the required cost savings/tool test documentation
Report and document non-conformances, CARs, near misses, incidents, and continuous improvements to the Site Manager and participate in any investigations
Maintains safety and acceptable housekeeping standards for the site
Make decisions within the limits of general standards or procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Able to work with little to no supervision and ability to multitask
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
Good written, oral communication skills, computer and system knowledge
Ability to work well with others, always exhibiting teamwork
Engineering degree
Five years’ experience preferred
