Job Description
Role: Administrative Specialist (Shipping & Receiving, Dispatch, Office)
Work Address: 720 West Juniper Street, Connell, WA 99326
Pay Rate: $17.55/hr base + shift differential = $19.25/hr total (with pay increase opportunity upon permanent hire)
Schedule: Friday–Tuesday (Wednesday & Thursday off – “weekend”)
Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Employment Type: Temp (ASAP through end of September) with potential temp-to-hire conversion for strong performers
Parking: Free onsite (not near public transit)
We are hiring an Administrative Specialist to support high-volume shipping, receiving, dispatch, and warehouse office operations in Connell, WA. This is a fast-paced role working directly alongside a busy distribution dock handling heavy truck traffic (up to 100 trucks daily).
This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent data entry skills, and the ability to stay organized in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment. Candidates must be comfortable working in a warehouse-adjacent office setting with frequent interaction with carriers, drivers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities- Support shipping, receiving, dispatch, and administrative warehouse functions
- Enter, verify, and maintain accurate shipping and inventory data
- Communicate with carriers regarding shipment details and scheduling
- Verify shipment information, orders, and documentation for accuracy
- Resolve discrepancies in shipping or inventory records
- Maintain accurate records of inbound and outbound freight
- Answer high-volume phone calls from carriers and customers
- Coordinate daily shipping schedules with warehouse operations
- Support dock operations in a fast-paced environment with heavy traffic
- Perform general office and warehouse administrative support tasks
- Ensure compliance with safety and documentation procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- Körber Warehouse Management System experience is REQUIRED (also known as HighJump or Accellos experience is acceptable)
- 1+ year of office, logistics, warehouse, or administrative experience preferred
- Strong data entry and accuracy skills
- Customer service and phone communication experience required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic computer proficiency (data systems, email, Excel preferred)
- Office is connected to active warehouse dock (dust and noise present)
- Must be comfortable in a high-traffic logistics environment
- Ability to follow safety protocols and wear PPE when required
- Must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants (no tank tops or inappropriate graphics)
- PPE provided when working in warehouse areas
- Friday–Tuesday schedule (Wednesday/Thursday off)
- Evening shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- Must be able to work independently on weekends after initial training period
- Temporary assignment through end of September with potential for permanent hire
- Pay increase possible upon conversion to permanent employee
- Onsite interviews required (no virtual interviews)
- Screens may allow “start pending” on a case-by-case basis
- Körber system experience is a hard requirement
