Position Overview
OMEC Smart Card is seeking a detail-oriented, physically capable, and skilled Layup Station Operator to support our automated card production process.
This role requires operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting various machinery while ensuring production quality, efficiency, and safety.
Candidates must excel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, demonstrate strong teamwork, and possess the ability to learn and adapt quickly to operational requirements.
This is a physically active role that involves standing for long periods, managing materials, and performing hands-on tasks with machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Layup Station including semi-automatic un-layup machine and fully automatic layup machine
- Monitor machine performance and address or report operational issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform production quality inspections
- Load materials, manage machine components, and maintain efficient workflows.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, machine maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to achieve production goals and suggest process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator, or similar role in manufacturing.
- Physical fitness and stamina to stand for entire shift periods and perform material handling tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and production schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Willingness to follow safety standards, policies, and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in machinery operation or maintenance.
- Experience with automated smart card production systems or similar industries.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, RFID manufacturing processes, Quality Control systems, or 5S methodology.

Required qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 17 years or older
- Valid driver's license
- Able to stand for duration of shift
- Able to comfortably lift 60 lbs
Preferred qualifications:
- Willing to wear face mask
- 2-3 years of total work experience
- At least high school diploma or equivalent or higher
- Available to work: overtime
