This role is responsible for servicing, maintaining, and expanding an established territory throughout Southern Westchester County. The successful candidate will provide timely, accurate diagnoses and recommendations for tree care, plant health care, and lawn care services for both residential and commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits to high-end residential and commercial properties to assess landscape health and identify service needs.
- Diagnose tree, shrub, lawn, and plant health issues and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
- Prepare, present, and negotiate proposals and service contracts.
- Develop and oversee customized tree care, lawn care, and plant health care programs.
- Coordinate and supervise field crews to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to client expectations.
- Manage and grow an existing sales territory while actively pursuing new business opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and training requirements.
- Represent the company at industry events, community functions, and networking opportunities to strengthen client relationships and promote the Almstead brand.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated success in developing, managing, and growing a sales territory.
- Strong working knowledge of arboriculture, plant health care, and lawn care practices.
- Ability to accurately diagnose landscape issues and develop effective treatment recommendations.
- Experience preparing and presenting professional proposals and estimates.
- Strong account management and client relationship skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Education & Certifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Plant Pathology, Environmental Science, Biological Sciences, or a related field preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- ISA Certified Arborist credential required, or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
