Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT/MLS) – Contract Assignment | Iowa

We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for a contract opportunity in Iowa.

Position Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks (possibility of extension up to 18 weeks based on facility needs)
• Start Date: July 20, 2026
• Schedule: Day Shift, Monday–Friday
• Additional Requirements: Potential call coverage for nights and weekends
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• EMR System: Cerner

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures
• Analyze and interpret test results accurately and efficiently
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
• Ensure compliance with quality control, safety, and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to support patient care

Requirements

• Active Iowa Medical Laboratory license (if applicable)
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
• Minimum 2 years of recent laboratory experience
• MLT (ASCP) or MLS/MT (ASCP) certification preferred
• Experience working in a hospital or acute care laboratory setting
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems and electronic medical records
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
