About the Position

AlliedTravelCareers is working with United Health Care Staffing to find a qualified Surg Tech in Kearney, Nebraska, 68845!

• Days 5x8s or Days 4x10s both shift options available.

• Sterile Field Management: Set up, organize, and maintain the sterile field with required surgical instruments, drapes, sutures, and solutions matching physician preference cards.

• Procedure Assistance: Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during operative procedures, accurately passing instruments, sponges, and equipment.

• Surgical Counts: Perform rigorous, mandatory instrument, sharp, and sponge counts with the circulating nurse before, during, and after surgical interventions to ensure patient safety.

• Specimen & Post-Op Care: Safely handle, identify, and hand off surgical specimens for laboratory analysis; assist with cleaning, dressing application, and transport of instruments to decontamination.

Requirements

Job Requirements

• CST-preferred not required. NON CERTIFIED ACCEPTED.

• Certification: Active National Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through NBSTSA or NCCT is highly preferred or required depending on the facility.

• Experience: Minimum 1 to 2 years of recent, independent Operating Room (OR) surgical tech experience in an acute care setting.

• Clinical Diversity: Generalist background preferred, with capability scrubbing a variety of specialties (e.g., General, Ortho, GYN, Neuro, or ENT). On-call rotation availability may be required.

• Life Support: Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
