Level I Trauma Center • Weekend Day and Night Shifts • Adult and Trauma Cases
Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Colorado licensed anesthesiologists for a locum tenens role at a Level I trauma center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This assignment involves weekend day and night shifts, providing anesthesia for adult and trauma patients across a broad case mix, including general, neurosurgical, vascular, orthopedic, and obstetric procedures.
Opportunity Highlights
- Level I Trauma Center locum tenens role
- Weekend day shifts: Friday–Monday, 0700–1700, four consecutive 10-hour shifts, with option to add one additional day on Tuesday or Thursday
- Weekend night shifts: Friday 1700–0700, Saturday 1700–0700, Sunday 1700–0700, Monday 1700–0700, up to 4 nights in-house, no call or callback
- Adult and trauma patient population
- Approximately 60 surgical cases daily
- Epic EMR system in use
- Supervision of CRNA/AA teams (up to three at a time)
- No anesthesia chart preparation required
- Difficult airway equipment available
Schedule Details
- Weekend day shifts: Friday–Monday, 0700–1700, four consecutive days
- Weekend night shifts: Friday 1700–0700, Saturday 1700–0700, Sunday 1700–0700, Monday 1700–0700
- Up to four nights in-house, scheduled as specified
Clinical Scope
- Adult and trauma anesthesia
- General, neurosurgical, vascular, orthopedic, obstetric cases
- Regional anesthesia: spinal, epidural, ultrasound-guided nerve blocks
- Central and arterial line placement
- Ventilation management and volume/BP control
- Use of difficult airway equipment on site
- No anesthesia documentation responsibilities
Practice Environment
This role is based within a busy Level I trauma center with 22 operating rooms. Providers will work alongside experienced anesthesia teams and support staff in a structured environment equipped with Epic EMR and difficult airway tools. The facility handles a high volume of adult trauma and surgical cases, with a focus on comprehensive anesthesia care for complex cases.
Requirements
- MD degree with active Colorado medical license
- DEA registration
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
- All required clinical certifications and experience as specified
