Requirements
- Active RN license in the practicing state (NC)
- BLS certification
- Oncology experience preferred
- Chemo certification preferred
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct medical-surgical nursing care to oncology and women’s surgical patients on a 24-bed unit with typical ratios of 1:4 or 1:5.
- Administer medications and assist with procedures common to the unit (occasional pelvic exams, assistance with thoracentesis, echo monitoring) per unit policies and clinician scope.
- Document patient care in the Cerner electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including CNAs, HUCs, and other RNs to maintain continuity of care.
- Adhere to unit dress code and hospital policies; participate in scheduled weekend coverage (staff required to work 6 weekend days per schedule) and rare on-call as needed.
- Support teamwork, learning, and unit-specific practices; float to other med-surg units on occasion.
