Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Transplant (Liver Focus)

Location: Indianapolis, IN
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Weekly Compensation: Up to $1,900/week (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with advanced transplant surgery experience to support a high-acuity surgical team. This position requires hands-on expertise in liver transplant procedures and the ability to function independently in a fast-paced operating room environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of complex surgical cases, sterile techniques, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary scrub technologist for complex surgical procedures, including liver transplant surgeries.
• Independently scrub liver recipient transplant cases.
• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, supplies, and sterile fields for surgical procedures.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection prevention standards.
• Assist surgeons during advanced procedures, including:
  • Liver transplant and liver resection
  • Whipple procedures
  • Large open abdominal surgeries
  • General surgery
  • Urology
  • Thoracic surgery
  • Gynecologic surgery
  • Plastic and reconstructive surgery, including free flap procedures
• Manage and maintain surgical instruments and specialized equipment, including robotic surgical systems.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and ensure efficient workflow throughout procedures.
• Support patient safety initiatives and quality care standards in the operating room.

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Night Shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Call Requirement: 40–60 hours per 6-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required
• High-volume surgical environment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Certified Surgical Technologist experience in a high-acuity operating room setting.
• Recent hands-on liver transplant scrub experience required.
• Ability to independently scrub and assist in liver recipient transplant procedures.
• Experience with large open abdominal surgeries and complex surgical specialties.

Required Certifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – NBSTSA
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Required Skills

• Advanced knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques.
• Experience in:
  • Liver transplant and liver resection
  • General surgery
  • Urology
  • Thoracic surgery
  • Gynecology
  • Plastic and reconstructive surgery
  • Whipple procedures
  • Free flap surgeries
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Experience with robotic surgical systems, including DaVinci Xi, preferred.
