Occupational Therapist – Acute Care in Valdez, Alaska. This travel - temporary assignment begins 08/03/2026 and runs for several weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $2,189 to $2,286 per week. Guaranteed hours are not provided. Shift is 5x8 days. The role is in a hospital setting with inpatient, outpatient, and long-term care exposure, featuring a focus on pediatric outpatient evaluation and development services alongside acute and inpatient care.

Responsibilities
- Perform OT evaluations and develop plans of care for patients across settings, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with a focus on pediatric outpatient development testing and treatment; participate in acute/inpatient and LTC care as needed
- Administer standardized assessments, facilitate functional activities, and apply feeding techniques (oral-motor) within therapeutic goals
- Provide patient and family education, document progress, and conduct reassessments to update the plan of care
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, ensure smooth transitions between inpatient, outpatient, and LTC, and adapt care as patient status evolves
- Document clinical actions in the charting system (Epic experience preferred) and uphold safety and core measure standards
Requirements
- Occupational Therapy license (pending Alaska license accepted)
- BLS certification required
- Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience; prior pediatric and inpatient (IP) experience preferred; experience with acute disorders, chronic disorders, functional activities, standardized assessments, developmental testing/treatment, and considerations for intellectual disability
- Ability to work across inpatient, outpatient, and LTC settings; may float within hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed per compliance notes
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Vaccination policy: COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine status unknown

- Holiday coverage: Traveler must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
