We are seeking an experienced Traveling Biomedical Equipment Specialist with deep expertise in sterilizer systems (Steris and/or Getinge) to support healthcare facilities across the Boston and New Hampshire region. This field-based role functions as a regional Subject Matter Expert (SME) within Healthcare Technology Management (HTM), responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and optimization of critical clinical equipment.

This position operates with a high level of independence and technical authority, supporting multiple hospital and healthcare environments while ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards and healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the regional SME for sterilizer systems (Steris / Getinge), ensuring optimal performance and regulatory compliance
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain sterilizers and other advanced clinical / electro-mechanical healthcare equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance, validation, calibration, and return-to-service activities across multiple healthcare facilities
  • Collaborate with clinical engineering and facility leadership to support maintenance strategies and equipment uptime goals
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, reports, and compliance records in line with healthcare and OEM standards
  • Travel extensively across assigned facilities in the Boston and New Hampshire region
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision while managing field service priorities and schedules

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent hands-on HTM/clinical equipment repair experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical repair within a healthcare technology environment
  • Proven hands-on expertise in sterilizer systems maintenance and repair to OEM standards
  • OEM training and/or certification in Steris and/or Getinge equipment (required)
  • Strong background in troubleshooting and maintaining advanced clinical equipment in hospital or healthcare settings
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to travel extensively across multiple healthcare facilities in the region

Preferred Experience

  • Experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) or HTM field service specialist
  • Exposure to additional clinical modalities (e.g., imaging, lab systems, networked medical devices, or surgical technologies)
  • Experience working in hospital-based clinical engineering departments or OEM service environments
  • Strong documentation discipline and familiarity with CMMS/service reporting systems
  • Prior experience acting as a technical SME or providing guidance to junior technicians
