Position Overview
Zedcor is hiring a Technical Operation Specalistto support the remote setup and optimization of mobile surveillance towers in active environments. This role is well-suited for individuals with backgrounds in military, law enforcement, or professional security, where situational awareness, observation, and attention to detail are critical. You will be responsible for ensuring cameras are positioned correctly, detection zones are accurate, and alarm criteria align with real-world activity. This is an in-office, desk-based operational role, requiring consistent use of computer systems to configure cameras, monitor performance, and maintain accurate records. Success in this position depends on both strong situational judgment and above-average computer proficiency, including the ability to input and manage data accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Camera Positioning & Scene Control
- Work with field staff to aim and cameras remotely to maximize coverage of high-risk areas
- Configure detection zones based on site layout, access points, threat vectors, and environmental considerations
- Adjust camera exposure zones and shutter settings to maintain clear visibility in day and night conditions
- Configure alarm criteria to align with site-specific security requirements
- Ensure detection settings accurately capture real activity without over-triggering
- Validate system performance after setup is completed
- Operate surveillance software and internal systems for configuration and testing activities
- Accurately input, update, and maintain site data and camera settings
- Document all configuration changes and ensure records are complete and reliable
- Maintain a high level of typing accuracy and attention to detail to preserve data integrity
- Assist with remote setup and commissioning of mobile surveillance towers
- Perform operational checks to confirm cameras and alerts are functioning correctly
- Work alongside experienced technicians to build advanced expertise
- Participate in technical training with senior team members
- Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and eventually support junior team members
Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical diploma, certificates or equivalent work experience in the fields of AV integration, Broadcast, or videography.
- 12 years of experience supporting traditional or security camera systems
- Working knowledge of static and PTZ camera systems
- Familiarity with remote device management
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in one or more of the following:
- 12 years of hands-on camera, AV, security systems, or access control experience
- Military service
- Law enforcement / 911 operator
- Deskside computer support
- Comfortable working in a desk-based role with extended computer use
- Strong computer proficiency, including accurate data entry and efficient system navigation
- Familiarity with surveillance systems, including fixed and PTZ cameras
- Ability to evaluate and adjust camera views to ensure effective site coverage
- Clear and concise communication skills, with strong attention to detail in documentation.
