We are currently seeking a Licensed Clinician / Assistant Manager to join our team. This position is open to qualified Respiratory Therapists (RT) or Registered Nurses (RN) and is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients, supporting respiratory care needs, assisting with daily store operations, and helping lead a team.
The Licensed Clinician / Assistant Manager is responsible for patient/client communication and service, respiratory care functions, equipment setup and education, insurance and documentation support, and assisting the Location Manager with daily operations, staff support, and store compliance.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Maintain positive, open communication with patients/clients and referral sources.
- Answer incoming phone calls, process customer orders, and assist walk-in customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Respond to patient/client questions, concerns, and equipment needs in a timely and patient-centered manner.
- Set up and instruct patients, caregivers, and family members on the safe use and function of home medical equipment according to physician orders and patient evaluations.
- Program PAP devices, fit PAP masks, and provide education and support related to respiratory equipment use and safety.
- Read and interpret sleep studies.
- Perform oximetry and conserver testing.
- Ensure the quality and safe delivery of services to patients according to the prescribed care plan.
- Complete required documentation accurately and thoroughly, including paperwork review, insurance verification, and order completion.
- Create and maintain patient/client files as needed.
- Assist with scheduling monthly oxygen visits and/or deliveries.
- Assist the Location Manager with equipment maintenance, servicing, tracking logs, and inventory accuracy.
- Help ensure store, vehicles, and equipment are clean, properly maintained, serviced, and tagged.
- Assist with ordering equipment and supplies in a timely manner.
- Help ensure company policies and procedures are followed at the location.
- Assist with training, supporting, and retaining location employees.
- Educate referral sources regarding Long Term Medical Supply products, services, and documentation requirements.
- Represent the company in a positive and professional manner.
- Participate in quality assurance, traditional learning, and e-learning programs as assigned.
- Follow OSHA, DOT, FDA, HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines as applicable.
- Participate in the scheduled on-call rotation and complete deliveries as directed.
- Uphold and implement Long Term Medical Supplys mission and values.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must hold an active Respiratory Therapist license or another applicable clinical license, such as Registered Nurse.
Experience:
- Previous DME experience preferred, but not required.
- Previous leadership, assistant manager, or team lead experience preferred.
- Previous customer service or healthcare experience preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong customer service and phone communication skills.
- Patient-centered approach with compassion and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with paperwork and documentation.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and support daily store operations.
- Ability to assist with staff training, task delegation, and team communication.
- Previous data entry experience preferred.
- Typing and 10-key proficiency preferred.
- Ability to learn equipment, supplies, insurance requirements, and company procedures.
- Valid drivers license with a good driving record required.
