Job Description
Business Development Manager, Private Credit - Remote, USA
We are retained by an Evergreen private credit fund of funds with a co-investment mandate to identify a Business Development Manager for the US market. The fund invests directly in private credit deals alongside managers and is seeking a commercially driven professional who combines genuine credit market expertise with an established business development capability.
This is not a role for a generalist sales professional moving into credit, nor for a credit analyst seeking a client-facing transition. The successful candidate will already be operating at the intersection of both disciplines: originating and developing relationships within the private credit ecosystem while drawing on substantive knowledge of credit structures, fund terms, and manager evaluation.
The Role
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for building and managing long-term relationships with private credit fund managers (with a particular focus on smaller and emerging managers), family offices, and potential co-investors. You will negotiate co-investment capacity with fund managers, identify access to club deals, and represent the fund at industry conferences and events. Willingness to travel extensively across the USA is essential; this is a relationship-intensive role and face-to-face engagement is central to it.
The Candidate
You will bring a minimum of five years of experience working within private credit, with a meaningful portion of that time spent in a client-facing, business development, or investor relations capacity. You will have:
- Substantive knowledge of the private credit market, including fund structures, credit instruments, and manager landscape
- A demonstrable track record of originating and converting relationships with fund managers, family offices, or institutional investors
- An established network within the private credit community, particularly among smaller and mid-market fund managers
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to represent a fund externally at conferences and in direct investor dialogue
- Sound commercial judgement and negotiation skills
Experience in a fund of funds environment is advantageous. Access to an existing network of club deal opportunities is a further positive.
Compensation
Base salary USD 100,000 to USD 150,000 plus performance bonus of up to 100% of base.
Requirements
Applicants must be resident in the United States and hold the right to work in the US without sponsorship.
