Position Overview
Shulamith High School seeks a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher to join our exceptional faculty. Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous instruction in high school History courses
• Develop lesson plans, assessments, and curriculum aligned with New York State learning standards
• Foster a classroom environment that encourages discussion, analytical thinking, and respectful debate
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
• Assess student progress through a variety of formal and informal measures and communicate results to students and parents
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and departmental initiatives
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in History or a related field required; Master's degree preferred
• New York State certification in Social Studies (7–12) required or in progress
• Prior teaching experience preferred; strong student teachers encouraged to apply
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to the mission and values of a Jewish day school environment
