Essential Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
- Obtain and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and pulse.
- Collect laboratory specimens and perform basic clinical testing.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
- Maintain examination rooms and ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Perform patient screening and triage activities.
- Document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality.
- Interpret/translate for providers when needed.
Administrative Duties
- Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner.
- Answer phones and route calls appropriately.
- Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
- Schedule appointments and referrals.
- Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA requirements.
- Open and close the clinic as assigned.
- Assist with quality control and clinic operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification.
- Current CPR/BLS Certification.
- Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Associate Degree in Medical Assisting or related medical specialty with one (1) year of experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of Medical Assistant experience.
- Bilingual in English and Navajo.
