Job Description
(Baton Rouge, LA): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Quality Technician Level 1 to inspect in-process production, verify product specifications through visual and measurement testing, document inspection results, support equipment calibration requirements, and communicate adjustments needed to operations while promoting safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork across the facility.
Essential Duties:
• Inspect in-process production by confirming specifications using visual and measurement testing methods
• Communicate required production adjustments to operations teams
• Document inspection results by completing reports, logs, and database entries
• Maintain measurement equipment by following operating instructions and calibration requirements
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment
• Support Food Safety and GMP compliance standards
• Identify and help eliminate quality issues within the facility
• Contribute to improving overall production quality and operational effectiveness
• Continue developing and applying technical skills related to inspection processes and packaging lines
• Promote teamwork and a positive working environment across departments
• Support operational goals including safety targets, customer satisfaction, and productivity metrics (including OEE performance goals)
• Demonstrate leadership initiative and cross-train across multiple packaging lines as skills advance
Requirements/Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred)
• Strong troubleshooting abilities
• Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail
• Basic math skills and ability to pass an aptitude test
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Ability to work flexible schedules including days, nights, and weekends
• Positive attitude with strong teamwork mindset
• Demonstrated reliability and excellent attendance record
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented with willingness to support team success
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
• Ability to safely perform inspection duties in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work in a production setting while maintaining safety and GMP compliance standards
