Production Lead (2nd Shift)

Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday, 1:00pm to 9:00pm (Paid Lunch and Breaks)

Salary: $22.00/hr to $28.00/hr (depending on experience)

Location: Dayton, Ohio 45404

Experience: 1–3 years in a lead or supervisory role with at least 3 years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment.   Prefer someone with a strong sheet metal fabrication background

Production Lead - About the Opportunity:

PrideStaff has partnered with a premier, high-quality manufacturing leader in the HVAC and sheet metal fabrication sector, based right here in Dayton. 

We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on 2nd Shift Production Lead to guide a dedicated team of fabricators and machine operators. If you have experience in custom metal fabrication, reading production drawings, and leading a team to hit high-quality goals safely, we want to talk to you!

Production Lead - Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Lead by Example: Coordinate, supervise, and work alongside the second-shift manufacturing team to meet daily production quotas and job-site delivery deadlines.

• Blueprint & Drawing Execution: Take project take-offs and custom drawings, translating them into accurate floor tasks for spiral, rectangular, and oval sheet metal fittings.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure all single-wall, dual-wall, and industrial welded components meet strict structural and client-specific quality standards before moving to shipping.

• Safety & Compliance: Champion safe shop-floor practices, ensuring proper usage of PPE and correct operations of machinery (shearers, rollers, welders, etc.).

• Training & Mentorship: Provide ongoing training to new hires and temporary staff on plant functions, layout techniques, and specialized equipment.

• Shift Reporting: Maintain concise hand-offs and records regarding labor tracking, production completion, and equipment maintenance needs for the 1st shift team.

Production Lead - What We Are Looking For:

• Experience: 2–4+ years of experience in a manufacturing facility, with at least 1 year in a leadership, Team Lead, or supervisory capacity.

• Industry Knowledge: Solid background in sheet metal fabrication, HVAC manufacturing, or industrial welding environments highly preferred.

• Technical Skills: Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical prints, blueprints, or fabrication drawings.

• Leadership Mindset: Strong communication skills, a proactive problem-solving attitude, and the ability to motivate a diverse team under tight project turnaround times.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, and work comfortably in a fast-paced shop floor environment.
