Maintenance Technician I - Now Hiring

Our client in the Bloomfield, CT area is looking for a hardworking, skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician I to join their team. This individual will operate independently and collaborate with engineering and maintenance personnel to perform preventive and routine maintenance. This role is responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues, repairing production and facility equipment failures, and maintaining optimal equipment performance.

What will you be doing?

• Diagnose and troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Perform repairs and replace faulty components on plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, coating equipment, slitters, compressed air systems, pumps, and facilities equipment/infrastructure.
• Perform electrical shutdown/startup of low to medium voltage equipment.
• Document repair to machinery establishing a history and timeline of changes.
• Provide support in writing standard operating procedures.

What do you bring?

• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• 3 + years of experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing environment working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics troubleshooting and repair. 
• Ability to utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the installation, repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment
• Proficiency with basic office computer software and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic shop math skills.
