Construction Supervisor

Position Summary

Amerine Utilities Construction is seeking an experienced Broadband Fiber Construction Supervisor to lead and oversee daily field operations for underground fiber optic construction projects. This role is responsible for managing crews and subcontractors, ensuring safe and efficient project execution, maintaining quality standards, coordinating resources, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

• Supervise multiple fiber construction crews and subcontractors across active job sites.
• Coordinate daily work activities to meet project schedules, production goals, and customer expectations.
• Review construction drawings, permits, utility locates, and project specifications to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Monitor project progress and track production quantities.
• Prepare and submit daily production and field activity reports.
• Coordinate equipment utilization, maintenance, and availability.
• Manage project materials, inventory, and job site resources.

Field Operations

• Oversee directional drilling, trenching, conduit installation, fiber placement, utility crossings, and site restoration activities.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company, customer, and industry standards.
• Maintain quality control throughout all phases of construction.
• Identify and resolve field issues to minimize project delays and maximize productivity.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop field personnel to promote a high-performing team environment.
• Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to crew members.
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning as needed.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
