Job Description
Certified Stick Welder
As a Certified Stick Welder, you will be responsible for performing structural welding and related fabrication work on an industrial project site. This role requires a skilled welder who can read and follow project specifications, maintain high-quality weld standards, and work safely in a fast-paced construction environment. You must follow all safety guidelines, company procedures, and supervisor instructions to contribute to a safe and productive work environment. Must be certified with current welding certifications in hand.
Job Type: Full-time, Temporary Project Assignment
Location: Carrollton, KY
Project Duration: Approximately 2 Weeks
Start Date: June 22, 2026
Required Training: June 18, 2026 in Buckner, KY (full day) and approximately a half-day on June 19, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM Start Time
Expected Hours: 50 Hours Per Week (5 x 10-Hour Shifts)
Required Skills
- Current welding certifications required and must be available upon request.
- Proven experience with Stick Welding (SMAW).
- Structural welding experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to interpret welding specifications and follow project requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial construction environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform stick welding on structural components according to project specifications.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and compliance with industry standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures.
- Set up and maintain welding equipment and tools.
- Assist with fitting, positioning, and securing materials prior to welding.
- Follow all site-specific safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure project success.
- Complete all assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship.
Experience
- Current welding certifications required; certifications must be in hand and up to date.
- Structural welding certification and experience preferred.
- Previous industrial, commercial, or construction welding experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
