Job Title: Analytical Chemist II/Data Reviewer
Job Description
The position of Analytical Chemist II is responsible for performing advanced analytical analysis of raw materials, in-process solutions, stability, finished goods, and cleaning samples, as well as providing general laboratory support. The role involves 50% laboratory testing using techniques such as FTIR and chromatography, and 50% responsibilities outside the laboratory, including Phase I investigations and data review.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine analysis for raw materials, in-process solutions, stability, and finished goods, including identification testing, refractive index, density, viscosity, water activity, pH, appearance, taste, and smell testing.
- Conduct advanced analytical testing such as limits tests, titration, water determination, assay, and impurities testing, along with ICP-MS testing.
- Conduct pharmaceutical water testing, including nitrate testing, total organic carbon (TOC), and conductivity.
- Analyze cleaning validation and surveillance samples.
- Prepare solutions for routine and non-routine analysis, such as buffers and diluents.
- Execute Phase I investigations.
- Conduct simple data reviews generated from routine testing.
- Coordinate samples prior to and following testing activities.
- Order and stock laboratory supplies.
- Perform laboratory maintenance activities, including equipment preventative maintenance, calibration, waste disposal, and cleaning laboratory areas.
- Perform other activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a related technical field.
- Experience with HPLC and ICP-MS.
- 4 years of experience working in a GxP laboratory environment.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.00/hr.
