Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
The Mechanical Assembler builds CNC machines from the ground up by carefully assembling mechanical components of various sizes. This role involves using a range of hand and power tools, reading and following detailed work instructions on an iPad, and responding to verbal guidance to complete high-quality assemblies in a production environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble CNC machines from the ground up using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Put together mechanical parts ranging from very small components to large assemblies.
- Read and follow written work instructions on an iPad to perform assembly tasks accurately.
- Follow verbal instructions from supervisors or team leads to complete assemblies and resolve issues.
- Use measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and ensure proper fit and alignment.
- Interpret basic schematics, blueprints, and work instructions to understand assembly requirements.
- Perform mechanical assembly and general labor tasks as needed to support production goals.
- Handle tools and equipment safely and correctly, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with mechanical repair or adjustment of components when necessary, drawing on mechanical and repair experience.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Essential Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in assembly or construction.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to use measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers to check parts and assemblies.
- Experience in mechanics and repair work, such as automotive or similar mechanical repair.
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions on an iPad and understand basic schematics and blueprints.
- Capability to follow verbal instructions accurately and ask clarifying questions when needed.
- Comfort working in a production environment performing mechanical assembly and general labor tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and use tools correctly and maintain them in good condition.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with mechanical assembly of industrial or manufacturing equipment.
- Familiarity with production workflows and work instructions in a manufacturing setting.
- Mechanically inclined, including troubleshooting and basic mechanical problem-solving.
- Exposure to working around CNC machines or similar automated equipment.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality assemblies.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large manufacturing plant with significant pedestrian and industrial vehicle traffic, requiring awareness of surroundings and adherence to safety procedures. Machinery runs continuously, and some areas of the facility are loud, so hearing protection and other appropriate personal protective equipment may be required. Work is performed on the production floor using hand and power tools, measuring devices, and digital work instructions on an iPad. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
