Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Quality Inspector to join our team. The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting parts, products, and processes to ensure conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role requires experience using precision measuring instruments, interpreting blueprints, and identifying irregularities or defects in manufactured components and finished products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company quality system procedures and safety standards.
  • Inspect parts, products, and processes to ensure conformance with specifications and standards.
  • Work from engineering drawings, rough sketches, manuals, and prototypes to verify product quality.
  • Use fixed and variable measuring instruments and precision inspection equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Compare products with parts lists, blueprints, or sample models to ensure proper assembly and completion.
  • Identify irregularities, defects, or nonconforming materials and communicate findings appropriately.
  • Inspect components and parts with unusual or nonstandard shapes requiring extremely close tolerances.
  • Utilize or develop nonstandard inspection procedures when necessary.
  • Inspect finished vents and manways for quality and compliance.
  • Verify leakage test reports as needed.
  • Perform inspection tasks requiring knowledge of inspection techniques, tools, gauges, materials, and equipment, including electronic and mechanical measuring instruments.
  • Maintain accurate inspection documentation and records.
  • Support production and technical teams to ensure quality standards are met.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience as a Quality Inspector or Tester in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.
  • Experience measuring unusual or nonstandard parts to extremely close tolerances.
  • Strong blueprint reading and basic shop math skills.
  • Good visual acuity and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Management, Technical, and Production personnel.
  • Basic computer skills required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time.
  • Periodic standing and walking throughout the facility.
  • Ability to climb, bend, and walk continuously as needed.
  • Ability to work above floor level and in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to wear all required safety equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move materials:
  • Continuously: 1–5 lbs
  • Frequently: 5–25 lbs
  • Occasionally: 25–60 lbs
  • Rarely: 60+ lbs with two people

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing and production environment.
  • Exposure to industrial equipment and confined work areas.

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • Overtime may be required based on production needs
