Overview
Join a dedicated team as a Field Laboratory Representative, where you will play a vital role in supporting laboratory analysis through specimen collection. Facilitate the collection, processing, and shipping of urine specimens
Collect urine specimens from patients, following proper identification procedures
Conduct observed and/or supervised specimen collections as required
Label and document specimens accurately and prepare them for shipment
Demonstrate customer service and compassion during patient interactions
Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and clinic staff
Follow Universal Precautions and OSHA standards when handling specimens
Adhere strictly to HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality
Report low volume shifts, issues, or procedural deviations to the supervisor
Maintain a clean, organized work environment at all times
Assist with office supply and order processing as needed
Required Skills
Strong customer service skills and a reliable work ethic
Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
Excellent communication skills for clear and confident interactions
Strong computer skills for managing multiple programs, email, and reports
Fast and accurate data entry capabilities
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to perform frequent walking, sitting, bending, reaching, and other physical activities
Additional Skills & Requirements
Previous experience in specimen collection or similar clinical roles preferred
Must wear solid color medical scrubs and closed-toe shoes
Availability to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm, 25 hours per week
Reliable transportation to worksite in Portland, ME
No specific licensure or certification required; training will be provided as needed
