School Psychologist | Little Ferry, New Jersey

Make a direct impact on student well-being and success as a vital member of a dedicated school community serving pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. As a School Psychologist in this contract role, you’ll provide essential services and guidance for a student population of approximately 900 across a small, close-knit district. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with staff, students, and families while managing a manageable caseload and fostering a positive school environment.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid School Psychologist certification or eligibility in New Jersey
• Previous experience or strong interest working with students in PK-8 setting
• Proficiency in conducting educational and psychological assessments
• Strong knowledge of counseling techniques and evidence-based interventions
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity or willingness to learn about Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB) coordination

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of approximately 45-50 students, providing individualized case management
• Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational evaluations (around 25 per year)
• Deliver counseling services that support students’ social, emotional, and academic needs
• Coordinate and document HIB cases as needed, working collaboratively with school administration
• Work in partnership with educators and families to develop effective student support plans
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and professional development activities
