Job Description
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Bring your expertise in school-based occupational therapy to a dynamic contract position supporting elementary-aged students. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who are motivated to make a positive impact within an educational setting while enjoying a flexible part-time schedule. The role is primarily focused at an elementary school, with responsibilities extending across the district as needed. You will provide skilled OT services approximately two and a half days per week, coordinating with a dedicated team to support student development and success.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Michigan Occupational Therapist license required
- Previous experience working in school or pediatric settings strongly preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with educators, students, and families
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and adapt to changing needs
Responsibilities:
- Conduct occupational therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for elementary students
- Deliver direct and consultative services in alignment with IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress
- Maintain timely and accurate records of services and student progress
- Provide guidance on accommodations and modifications in the classroom
- Support district initiatives and participate in team meetings as required
Enjoy a schedule of approximately 2.5 days per week, aligned with school hours (8:35–3:38), with a manageable caseload of around 25 students. This contract role allows for meaningful interaction and impact, while still offering work-life balance.
