School Psychologist
ProCare Therapy is partnering with local school districts to fill positions for the upcoming school year. We currently have ONE opening for a psychologist in Richmond, NC!
Position Summary
The School Psychologist provides comprehensive psychological services to students across grades K–12, including assessment, intervention, consultation, and prevention services. This role is critical in promoting positive mental health, supporting diverse learners, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Will serve 3-4 school sites.
37.5 hours week Starts: 8/16/26 Ends:6/3/27

Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Evaluation
• Conduct psychoeducational evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services
• Interpret assessment data and prepare detailed, compliant reports
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings (IEPs, 504s, eligibility meetings)
Intervention & Support
• Develop and implement evidence-based interventions for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
• Provide individual and group counseling services when appropriate
• Support crisis intervention and threat assessments when needed
Consultation & Collaboration
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop effective strategies for student success
• Provide recommendations for classroom accommodations and behavioral plans
• Serve as a resource for staff on mental health, behavior management, and learning challenges
Compliance & Documentation
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with IDEA, Section 504, and state guidelines
• Ensure compliance with timelines and procedural safeguards
Prevention & School-Wide Initiatives
• Participate in MTSS/RTI structures and data-driven decision-making
• Support school-wide initiatives promoting positive behavior and mental wellness
Qualifications
Required:
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
ALL SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS IN NORTH CAROLINA MUST HOLD A LICENSE BY THE NC PSYCHOLOOGY BOARD!
• Valid North Carolina certification/licensure as a School Psychologist
• Knowledge of special education laws and compliance requirements
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Experience working with K–12 populations
o Bilingual skills a plus
