Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as an Elementary & Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year, guiding students at the elementary level. This position starts in mid-August 2026 and concludes in May 2027, with 37.5 paid hours per week (8-hour days, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch) across a standard Monday through Friday schedule. Travel professionals are encouraged to apply, and comprehensive support with housing is available, ensuring a smooth transition to the suburban community.

Qualifications & Credentials:

  • Valid Alaska Type A Teaching Certificate required
  • Endorsements in both Special Education and Elementary Education
  • Previous experience working with elementary-aged students in special education settings preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with a collaborative approach
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for fostering inclusive classroom environments

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver instruction tailored to meet diverse learning needs of elementary students with special needs
  • Implement IEPs and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques to promote student engagement and progress
  • Maintain detailed records, participate in IEP meetings, and communicate regularly with families and stakeholders
  • Foster a supportive, positive classroom atmosphere for all learners
