Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact supporting middle school students as a School Psychologist on a contract assignment near Plainfield, NJ. Work closely with staff, students, and families to foster a positive learning environment for approximately 40 students across grades 6-8. This opportunity runs from September 1 to December 23, 2026, with consistent daytime hours from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist certification
- Experience working with middle school students (grades 6-8) preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP implementation and compliance
- Ability to conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations
- Collaborative and excellent communication skills for working with staff and parents
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support approximately 40 students to ensure their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) are followed effectively
- Participate in team meetings with staff and parents to review student progress and recommend appropriate interventions
- Conduct psychological assessments and re-evaluations as needed
- Provide consultation and guidance to educational teams regarding best practices for supporting student mental health and achievement
- Maintain thorough and confidential student records
- Serve as a key resource for crisis intervention and positive behavioral support
