Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity for a Pharmacist specializing in Long Term Care (LTC) and mail order pharmacy services is available with rotating shifts in a fast-paced environment. The position offers a contract to hire arrangement over approximately 13 weeks with potential for direct hire.
Location: Lawrence, MA
Schedule:
- Rotating shifts: 1st shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM) and 2nd shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM)
- Rotating weekends
Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret physician orders to ensure accuracy, safety, and appropriateness.
- Accurately dispense medications for LTC residents and manage high-volume mail order workflows.
- Maintain and update patient medication profiles to reflect current therapies.
- Monitor therapeutic responses and resolve drug-related problems specific to LTC residents.
- Conduct medication regimen reviews ensuring compliance with LTC regulations and efficacy.
- Provide drug information and education to caregivers, nurses, and healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws, documentation, and LTC standards.
- Perform data management tasks including order verification and workflow queue management supporting mail order processing.
- Support medication management services such as adherence monitoring and therapy issue resolution common in LTC populations.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Experience working in retail pharmacy or long term care settings.
- Massachusetts pharmacy license required.
- PharmD degree is a plus.
