Special Education Teacher - Columbus, Ohio

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract position focuses on providing specialized instruction to high school students in a pivotal stage of their education. There is also potential flexibility for those with a preference for working with middle schoolers, based on your strengths and interests.

Your expertise can bring critical support to a high school caseload of 24 students or a middle school caseload of 20 students, depending on placement. If you have experience in math intervention, your skills will be highly valued and put to significant use in the role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid teaching license with Special Education endorsement for the state of Ohio
• Prior experience teaching or supporting students with diverse learning needs
• Strong communication and collaborative problem-solving abilities
• Flexibility to work with high school or middle school populations
• Math intervention background considered a plus
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to varying student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small group instruction tailored to student IEPs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service staff, and families
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in IEP meetings
• Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages growth and independence
• Participate in ongoing professional development and school initiatives
