Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description
The Logistics MP&L Production Operator supports manufacturing and materials planning and logistics operations by safely operating a sit-down Hilo forklift and overhead crane to move raw materials, finished goods, and production supplies. This position combines equipment operation with hands-on production line support to maintain a smooth workflow, accurate inventory, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards in a modern manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a sit-down Hilo forklift and overhead crane to unload raw materials and move them to designated storage or staging areas.
- Stage materials for outbound shipments and maintain an orderly, well-organized stockroom to support efficient production and logistics operations.
- Pull and stage materials for production within the facility, ensuring the correct items and quantities are delivered to the appropriate lines.
- Remove finished goods from production areas and transfer them to designated locations for storage, shipping, or further processing.
- Use a tape measure to verify product dimensions for staging at the stamping presses, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and production supplies using warehouse management systems (WMS), production logs, or basic computer tools.
- Check product labels, quantities, and lot numbers against work orders to confirm accuracy before staging or shipping.
- Inspect materials for damage or defects before staging them for production and ensure nonconforming materials are identified and segregated.
- Communicate any discrepancies, damage, or inventory issues to supervisors and coordinate corrective actions as needed.
- Track material movement throughout the facility using WMS or production logs to support accurate inventory control and traceability.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections on forklifts and overhead cranes, report maintenance needs, and follow established safety and maintenance procedures.
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that require standing for extended periods and repetitive motions.
- Support production activities in the stamping department by ensuring timely delivery and removal of materials to and from press lines.
- Follow all safety policies, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), and contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Participate in required training at the designated training center and apply learned procedures and best practices when working on-site at the plant.

This is a Contract position based out of Stanton, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
