Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Valid Alaska Type A Teaching Certificate required
  • Endorsement in both Special Education (SPED) and Elementary Education
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student
  • Adapt general education lessons and teach core subjects in inclusive and self-contained settings
  • Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to ensure each student’s growth
  • Foster a supportive, encouraging classroom climate that celebrates diverse abilities
  • Track and report progress, maintaining thorough documentation
  • Commit to full-time, on-site availability: 37.5 paid hours per week, Monday through Friday
