Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A professional opportunity is available for a pharmacist experienced in retail and long-term care (LTC) pharmacy settings, combining mail order and LTC environments. This role offers a contract-to-hire arrangement lasting 13 weeks with a potential pathway to direct hire.
Location: North Andover, MA
Schedule:
- Rotating first and second shifts (8:00 am – 4:30 pm; 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm)
- Rotating weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately review and interpret physician orders to ensure appropriateness, accuracy, and patient safety.
- Dispense medications per prescriptions and long-term care standards, managing high-volume mail order workflows using Frameworks order entry.
- Maintain and update precise patient medication profiles reflecting current therapies.
- Monitor therapeutic responses and proactively identify, prevent, or resolve drug-related issues in LTC residents.
- Conduct medication regimen reviews, emphasizing safety, efficacy, and regulatory compliance in LTC.
- Provide drug information and education to caregivers, nurses, and healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams in developing and adjusting individualized care plans.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state pharmacy laws, LTC standards, and proper documentation.
- Manage data tasks including order verification, workflow queue management, and mail order processing accuracy.
- Support medication adherence monitoring and address therapy challenges common in the LTC population.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Pharmacy experience in retail or long-term care settings required.
- PharmD degree is a plus.
- Current Massachusetts pharmacy license mandatory.
