Job Title: Quality Technician
Job Description

The Quality Technician ensures that products consistently meet defined quality standards by performing routine inspections, verifying finished goods, and accurately documenting all findings. This role involves working independently on a structured daily schedule, making regular rounds on production lines, and using measurement tools and basic software to maintain high-quality output throughout the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Review emails at the start of each day to identify and respond to any quality issues reported by the previous shift.
  • Conduct regular rounds to each production machine to inspect products coming off the line and confirm they meet company quality standards.
  • Perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections on pieces from each line, using appropriate measurement tools as needed.
  • Inspect finished goods by digging through inventory, weighing product, and verifying that all items are within specification for shipment.
  • Record inspection results, observations, counts, and weights accurately in Excel and other internal systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of quality checks, nonconformances, and any corrective actions taken.
  • Support ongoing quality control activities for plastic injection molded products and related components.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments to verify critical dimensions when required.
  • Follow established daily procedures and task lists to ensure consistent quality coverage throughout the plant.
  • Work independently to manage time, prioritize tasks, and complete inspections without constant supervision.
  • Support inventory audits by providing accurate quality data and helping reconcile counts as needed.
  • Handle products safely and, where qualified, operate a forklift to transport product for inspection or staging.
  • Collaborate with production and other teams to communicate quality issues and help drive corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with plant safety and quality expectations.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of quality control or quality inspection experience (QC/QI).
  • Hands-on experience performing product inspections in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Excel for recording data, tracking counts and weights, and documenting quality findings.
  • Ability to follow established daily procedures and task lists consistently and accurately.
  • Experience using basic measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when entering data and completing inspection records.
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Comfort working around injection molding, plastic, or similar manufacturing processes.
  • Basic familiarity with Word or similar office software for documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Quality experience in plastics or metal manufacturing environments.
  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, and gauges for precise measurements.
  • Forklift experience to safely transport product for inspection or staging.
  • Strong task ownership and reliability in completing daily quality activities.
  • Stable work history demonstrating commitment and consistency in prior roles.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, first-shift role in a manufacturing plant environment. The primary schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with an additional note of a first-shift schedule of Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., depending on operational needs. The work takes place in a production setting that includes plastic injection molding and related processes, with regular interaction with machinery, finished goods areas, and inventory storage. The role involves standing, walking the production floor, and handling products throughout the day, as well as working with measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Use of Excel, Word, and internal systems is part of the daily routine. When qualified, operating a forklift may be required to move product for inspection or staging. Dress is typical for a manufacturing environment, with appropriate work attire and any required personal protective equipment provided or specified by the employer.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
