This role focuses on constructing and assembling concrete form systems for commercial construction projects in the State College, PA area. You will read and interpret blueprints, ensure precise and high-quality formwork, and maintain strict adherence to safety standards on active construction sites. The position offers a contract-to-hire path with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role for strong performers.
Responsibilities
- Construct and assemble concrete form systems with precision and efficiency.
- Install, adjust, and secure formwork to support concrete pours and flatwork.
- Read and interpret blueprints to execute formwork designs accurately.
- Perform concrete-related tasks such as concrete construction, finishing, and flatwork as needed.
- Ensure safety and quality control for all assigned tasks and work areas.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members on commercial construction projects to complete work on schedule.
- Perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 pounds and working in diverse weather conditions.
- Use personal tools and equipment properly and maintain them in good working condition.
- Follow all site-specific safety requirements, including the use of proper protective clothing and equipment.
- At least 1 year of experience in the construction industry.
- 1–3 years of form carpentry experience (preferred).
- Hands-on experience with concrete construction, concrete formwork, and concrete pours.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Experience with carpentry and finish carpentry related to formwork and concrete projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Commitment to a safety-first mindset and adherence to protective equipment guidelines.
- Experience with commercial construction projects.
- Background in concrete finishing, flatwork, and general labor on construction sites.
- Ability to install and adjust form systems efficiently and accurately.
- Ownership of personal tools appropriate for form carpentry and concrete work.
- Comfort working on prevailing wage projects and adapting to different jobsite conditions.
- Reliable work habits, punctuality, and consistency in following site procedures.

Work Environment
You will work on commercial construction projects in the State College, PA area, including a prevailing wage project expected to run through the remainder of the summer. The role is based on active job sites where you will perform outdoor work in diverse weather conditions. The schedule follows typical construction hours, with the need to adapt to site demands and project timelines. Proper protective clothing, such as steel-toe boots and other required personal protective equipment, is mandatory. The environment is fast-paced, safety-focused, and highly collaborative, with a mix of independent tasks and team-based work using standard construction tools and equipment for concrete formwork and finishing.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
