Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Job Description

As a Mechanical Designer, you will lead cross-functional projects involving the design, fabrication, validation, and manufacture of complex subassemblies, systems, processes, equipment, or facilities. You will establish and maintain partnerships with peers, suppliers, and customers, utilizing a deep technical understanding in areas such as materials science, equipment design, and process technologies. Your role will involve evaluating field installations and recommending design modifications to eliminate tank system malfunctions, while growing into a Subject Matter Expert for stainless steel and aluminum trailers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional projects or programs in design and fabrication.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with peers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Utilize technical knowledge in operational areas like materials science and equipment design.
  • Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications.
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert for stainless steel and aluminum trailers.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with Inventor 3D CAD or Solidworks.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D CAD.
  • Experience with stainless steel.
  • Attention to detail to minimize rework.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge or experience in welding and fabrication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience communicating with customers.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Minimum associate degree in Design or related engineering field.
  • Experience with metal fabrication processes.
  • Problem-solving skills using methodologies like 8D, A3, and Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge in steel tank design and fabrication.
  • Strong mechanical engineering skillset in areas like stress analysis and welding.
  • Lean manufacturing and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) experience.
Work Environment

The work schedule is onsite full-time, Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. You will be part of a team with four other CAD Designers, reporting onsite. The facility houses about ten engineers and the production group, offering a close-knit environment with opportunities for growth and career advancement. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Lisbon, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $31.00/hr.
