School Psychologist - Norfolk, VA

Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a dynamic, full-time contract role as a School Psychologist, supporting student success in the vibrant Virginia Beach area. This on-site position offers meaningful opportunities to work closely with diverse student populations, providing psychological services that make a real difference in educational outcomes. While many of your peers will serve virtually, this assignment provides a flexible work environment and valuable face-to-face interactions.

Key Qualifications:

• Current, active Virginia Department of Education (DOE) license
• Valid Psychology licensure for the state of Virginia
• Previous experience in school settings strongly preferred
• Sound knowledge of educational and psychological assessment tools
• Commitment to an on-site, Monday through Friday schedule (35 hours/week)
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate academic, behavioral, and social-emotional functioning
• Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to help design and implement effective interventions
• Develop Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and participate in IEP meetings as needed
• Provide crisis intervention and counseling for students as appropriate
• Support school-wide initiatives for positive behavioral interventions and supports
• Maintain meticulous documentation and ensure compliance with district and state regulations

This opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year, from August 31st through June 15th, offering a consistent and rewarding experience. Assignment details, including caseload and specific school placements, will be finalized prior to your start date.
