Trusted Talent is seeking a travel nurse RN Orthopedics for a travel nursing job in Urbana, Illinois.

Essential Functions:
\n- Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service.
- Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
- Complete initial assessments upon patient admission and develop appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
- Implement care plans, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
- Modify plans of care based on continuous evaluation.
- Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting safety hazards and incidents.
- Communicate with others directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues.
- Offer constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers.
- Identify own learning needs and take initiative to address them.
- Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.
Department Specific Job Functions:
\n- Assess ortho and medical/surgical patients every shift.
- Educate ortho and medical/surgical patients on wound care, proper mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transition needs.
- Coordinate with physician and surgeon partners on patient care.
- Delegate and monitor interventions of HCT staff.
- Set up ortho traction and manipulate surgical traction devices for mobility and wound care.
- Manage wound appliances such as wound vacs, drains, pouches, and other urological devices.
Skills:
\nRequired Skills & Experience:
\n- Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience.

\n- EPIC experience.
