Responsibilities
Perform microscopic evaluation and screening of gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens.
Evaluate and process specimens using ThinPrep and related cytology methodologies.
Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
Ensure proper specimen identification, labeling, and handling.
Assist with fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures and Rapid On-Site Evaluation (ROSE) when applicable.
Collaborate with pathologists, laboratory staff, and healthcare providers to support accurate and timely diagnoses.
Maintain compliance with laboratory accreditation and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of Cytotechnologist experienceCurrent ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) certification or equivalent
Experience with:
Gynecologic cytology
Non-gynecologic cytology
Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) procedures
Quality Control/Quality Assurance programs
Specimen identification and labeling
Preferred Qualifications
ThinPrep Imager Certification
ROSE (Rapid On-Site Evaluation) adequacy experience
Experience with:
Ascitic, gastric, esophageal, spinal, respiratory, and urinary cytology specimens
FNA smear preparation and staining
Flow Cytometry
FISH testing
Special stains and ancillary testing
Laboratory Environment
