\n\nJob Description:\n

The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in assisting during surgical procedures by ensuring and maintaining a sterile surgical environment. This position involves providing necessary instrumentation to the surgical team and ensuring high-quality patient care. The Surgical Technologist operates under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

\n\nEssential Job Functions:\n

\n
• Maintain and demonstrate expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques while understanding human anatomy and surgical procedures.
\n
• Check all surgical items for proper packaging, processing, and sterility, including monitoring expiration dates.
\n
• Ensure a safe operating room environment, confirming that all equipment functions properly to maximize patient safety during procedures.
\n
• Monitor the sterile field for contamination events and initiate corrective actions as needed, under supervision.
\n
• Work towards competency with Tier 1 surgical cases while remaining flexible in contributing to individualized patient care.
\n
• Communicate effectively with the perioperative team, participating fully in Time Out processes, including briefings and debriefings.
\n
• Assist with patient transport, room turnover, and preparation for surgical procedures.
\n
• Exhibit professional behavior by staying current on new technologies, instruments, and equipment.
\n
• Clean and prepare surgical instruments for terminal sterilization.
\n
• Adhere to principles of a Just Culture and maintain HIPAA compliance at all times.
\n

\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n

\n
• Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program or possession of a Surgical Technologist license in the state of Colorado.
\n
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
\n
• Ability to acquire necessary computer skills for online learning and job functions within 90 days of hire.
\n
• Proficiency in the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking.
\n
