Weekly Gross: $2,052.00 Per Week
On W2(Taxable): $576.00 Per Week

Job Description:
Schedule: Variable day shifts between 07:00 - 20:30 (typically 07:00 - 15:30 or 07:00 - 17:30)
Charting System: Epic
Float Required: Yes – within specialty, other units, and sister SRH facilities within scope
Call Requirement: Yes – approximately three on-call shifts in a four-week period; includes weekends and holidays
Note: Previous Charge Experience Required. Auto Offer Position.
Position Overview:
The PACU Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. The RN is responsible for patient assessment, monitoring, pain management, discharge planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective post-operative recovery.
Job duties:
Assess, monitor, and care for patients during Phase I PACU recovery following surgical and procedural interventions.
Monitor airway status, respiratory function, cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic stability, and neurological status post-anesthesia.
Administer medications including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, and reversal agents as prescribed.
Initiate and maintain IV therapy, manage central lines, ports, arterial lines, and administer blood products when indicated.
Perform pain assessments and implement appropriate pain management strategies.
Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient education, discharge instructions, medication reconciliation, and follow-up care coordination.
Care for patients undergoing general, orthopedic, vascular, neurological, gynecological, ophthalmology, ENT, bariatric, and gastrointestinal surgical procedures.
Monitor and manage patients receiving conscious sedation, general anesthesia, MAC, spinal anesthesia, nerve blocks, and post-epidural care.
Recognize and respond to emergency situations including airway compromise, dysrhythmias, malignant hyperthermia, and post-operative complications.
Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, radiology, and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to infection control, isolation precaution, and patient safety standards.
Requirements:
Licensure: Active Maryland RN License or Compact RN License at time of submission
Experience: Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience; Previous Charge Experience Required
Certifications:
ACLS (AHA)
BLS (AHA)
PALS (AHA)
