American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Level III NICU position in the Houston, TX area, requiring NRP certification and at least 1 year of NICU experience.
Details- Level III NICU in a 42-bed unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
- Patient ratios: 1–3 patients per nurse for Level III acuity; 3–4 patients per nurse for Level II acuity
- Equipment used includes isolettes, OMNI beds, and phototherapy equipment
- EMR systems: Meditech and CPN
- Procedures performed include IV starts and PICC insertions (for trained clinicians)
- Floating to the newborn nursery may be required
- Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per schedule required
- Occasional on-call responsibilities
- Active TX RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current NRP certification (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics card required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent NICU experience required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- STABLE certification is preferred
- Experience with central lines including UAC, UVC, Broviacs, and PICC lines is preferred
- A charge nurse and PCT support are present on both day and night shifts
- A resource nurse will be available on the unit
- Royal blue scrubs are required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Candidates who are team players and self-motivated are considered the best fit for this unit
