Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Full-Time & PRN

Olney Rehabilitation and Care Center | Olney, TX

Olney Rehabilitation and Care Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house rehabilitation team. We are committed to providing person-centered care that helps residents achieve greater independence, improve functional abilities, and enhance their overall quality of life.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated clinician who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in a supportive skilled nursing and long-term care environment. Full-Time and PRN opportunities are available.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will provide skilled occupational therapy services to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to helping patients achieve their highest level of function and independence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement occupational therapy treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist

  • Provide therapeutic interventions designed to improve residents' ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs)

  • Assist patients in developing, recovering, and maintaining functional skills needed for daily living and mobility

  • Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist

  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding therapy programs, safety techniques, and adaptive equipment

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with company policies and state and federal regulations

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient outcomes

  • Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to patient-centered treatment goals

  • Ensure all treatments are delivered safely, effectively, and compassionately

  • Comply with all applicable regulations, policies, and professional standards

Qualifications

  • Active and valid Texas Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

  • Skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care experience preferred

  • Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
