Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Full-Time & PRN

Olney Rehabilitation and Care Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house rehabilitation team. We are committed to providing person-centered care that helps residents achieve greater independence, improve functional abilities, and enhance their overall quality of life.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated clinician who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in a supportive skilled nursing and long-term care environment. Full-Time and PRN opportunities are available.
Position Summary
Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will provide skilled occupational therapy services to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to helping patients achieve their highest level of function and independence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Implement occupational therapy treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist
Provide therapeutic interventions designed to improve residents' ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs)
Assist patients in developing, recovering, and maintaining functional skills needed for daily living and mobility
Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist
Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding therapy programs, safety techniques, and adaptive equipment
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with company policies and state and federal regulations
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient outcomes
Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to patient-centered treatment goals
Ensure all treatments are delivered safely, effectively, and compassionately
Comply with all applicable regulations, policies, and professional standards
Qualifications
Active and valid Texas Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care experience preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
